Harry Powell report

A frustrating afternoon for the Field sees them extend their run of consecutive losses on the road to three matches.

The Field started in the worst possible way as Ebanda found the net after three minutes - plenty of space in the box allowed him to tuck it neatly past Gallifent and into the far corner.

Regardless, the Field responded well as they got high up the pitch, with Beadle almost securing the equaliser on the 10-minute mark, but too many touches before the shot lead to it being dealt with comfortably by Southall keeper Michael Edegbe.

Several more chances came and went for the Field, but it was an excellent finish which found the top corner by Beadle to get that much coveted equaliser. The Field definitely looked the better side going into the half time break, but were still unable to break the deadlock and find that important second goal.

The second half saw a switch in the game as whilst the Field had the first chance of half, with Wright’s header meeting the crossbar and being cleared away, it was the hosts who scored the next goal as the ball found O’Connor inside the box, who floated the ball over the top of Gallifent, and it dropped into the net to restore the hosts' lead.

In contrast to the resolute attitude of the Field after conceding the first goal, there was no such attitude after the second, as the Field could not find the back of the net, no matter what they tried. Plenty of opportunities presented themselves to the Field, but more often than not they led to bundles in the box, with no player seemingly able to stick a foot out and put the ball into the net.

Ultimately, the hosts held onto the advantage, throwing bodies on the line to defend their lead, which they managed to see through.
