Harry Powell Report

It was a less than delightful day out by the coast for The Field, as they fell to a 2-0 defeat against a resurgent Moneyfields side.

The game started off scrappy and devoid of quality, that was until Lamin Jatta rattled the ball up and over Sobte from just outside the box, much to the surprise of the crowd.

The Field tried to get back into the game but several misplaced passes and 50/50’s saw the ball fall back to Moneyfields often and left the Field unable to get back in the game. This lack of cutting edge ended up punishing the Field as an excellent move was finished off by James Franklyn to double the hosts lead just minutes before half-time.

All being told, the first half was an exceptionally bad one for the Field, who looked really off the pace and didn’t have a sniff at goal.

The second half saw Andrew Crossley make a few changes, which helped open up the game more and gave the Field more promise of a second half comeback.

The Field had most of the ball in this period, with often all the action taking place near the Moneyfields penalty area, but despite the numerous balls into the area, many chances were spurned or cleared away by a resilient Moneyfields defence, who defended valiantly to keep the scoreline at 2-0.

All in all, it was a disappointing afternoon for the Field, who were looking to get back to winning ways, but such is football!
